Default NEW 1024x768 HD Monitor

Ok Guys,

So after 9-12 months of trying to put this thing together and being ignored, stalled, and manhandled by the LCD industry, I'm finally proud to mention that I've pretty much finished my LCD. (really wished I would have been able to get this thing out sooner)

Here are the specs.

Controller Board:
  • Power....................................12v
  • Video Inputs..........................ARGB, DVI-D, Composite Video, S-Video, HD-Component (YPbPr), HD-SDI (optional w/1 or 2 channels)

  • Blue Only (not sure if you can calibrate with this option, but its in the menu)
  • Auto Picture, Auto Color (I set my bars from the camera and this calibrate the monitor pretty well. Really like this feature)
  • Gama: 1.0/1.6/2.2

  • weight...................3.2 lbs with the (1) HD-SDI option
EDIT:
  • As of the new Bios Monitor can ZOOM 1:1 and beyond! (way beyond)
  • It can also PAN when zoomed
  • It can now FREEZE frame
  • And will have a Hard Switch to not Drain Battery Power.
The good thing about this is the image. Its really superb. The next best thing is the Angle of viewing. I really haven't seen anything with that much angle of view. Which is good for when more than one person are relying on the LCD.

Here are the first pictures. Please comment and ask questions if you would like.
Note the RGB connectors on top will be BNC and not RCA as those shown. I will fix this. I also need to add stickers to label things or possible do silk screened white letters.

Thank you.

Luis Sinibaldi

Congrats on the beautiful setup - this thing looks very impressive! Can't wait to hear more about it...I know you've been at this for a long time. Have you had any real-world production experiences with it yet?

Very nice looking! Can't wait to hear more on production/availability of this. Looks like a nice rugged unit.

Fantastic job!

Are you considering putting these together for sale...or was this just a personal one off?
I know I'd be interested, and I'm sure I"m not the only one.

Thanks guys.

YES I'M SELLING THEM (that is of course if there are enough people interested)

Well, I'll have an introductory price at first and see how that goes. the price might go up afterwards.

the introductory price for the Component RGB model will be around around $1250. (I just have to figure out lables and commission by paypal)

The introductory price for the Component and (1) HD-SDI model will be around $1550 and probably $1675 for (2) HD-SDI.

Lead time would be (2) weeks from the time that the order is placed to shipping for the first batch. (give or take a day)

If anyone in the LA area is interested in coming over to see the demo unit, please let me know and we can arrange something. Otherwise, I will bring my offering to the next HVX meeting in LA which I'm talking to user "DC" to try to expedite.

Thanks again for your interest.

Sincerely,

Luis Sinibaldi

Default Bravo!

Hi Luis,

Congratulations on a great looking setup! I am not surprised at how long it's taken you. That's just the way it is with that kind of development. It looks as though it was worth it. What's ypur impression of the scaling from 1080i down to the monitor resolution? -Sharpness for focus, moire, jagged lines?

I am interested in the component version. I don't see a weight spec, though. How heavy is it?
One suggestion: please drill a couple of holes with standard sized thread near the terminals. For example on the back or side plate(s) of the unit, if the material is strong enough. The purpose for me would be to be able to mount some reinforcement plate that would allow me to strap the wires that go out of the top onto a rigid metal rod/bar/plate or something, for protection of the wires and terminals.
Soren

Hi Soren,

I think the scaler on the board is phenomenal. The components I've chosen are probably the most expensive ones out there that a company can purchase. (without Developing specialized components)

I'll have to check all these things as I conduct my tests. But so far Shapness seems amazing, haven't notice moire & jaggedness. I'll keep conducting test.

As for the hole on the side, I'll look into it. But do note that the BNC connectors for the HD-Component (RGB) are not attached to the board. they are mounted to the case and have a cable that is attached to the board. So you cannot break the Controller by damaging that BNC. The BNC for the HD-SDI on the other hand are attached to an add-on board, so those could damage the add-on board, but not the main board.

I also had a question for you guys. This controller has separate RGB connectors for HD and for SD. I decided not to include the SD connectors because I felt that it was not crucial to use RGB for Standard Definition. And since the board requires you to plug the SD into a different set of connectors, why not just switch the cable to an S-Video Cable? (I can still switch this to have both 3 connectors BNC for High Definition and 3 connectors BNC for Standard Definition. Is this important to you guys, or do you agree to just switch to S-Video when doing SD since its only a 1 wire cable?)

As for the weight its 3.2 lb (the panasonic BT-LH900A BT is 4.4 lbs) with the (1) HD-SDI option. Without it it should be closer to 3lb and with the (2)HD-SDI option closer to 3.4lb. I'll update the first post.

And the size of the box is : 8.5" wide x 6.625" tall x 2.5" deep (keep in mind the 8.4" panasonic is 8.56" x 6.94" x 2.44" so very close in size)

Also anyone in LA with a camera that outputs HD-SDI? I don't have one, and I'd like to test it with it. (Also note that there are no pass throughs on the Analog Inputs, or the DVI or VGA inputs. The HD-SDI do have pass throughs though. )

And also note that you could use this monitor to plug in your computer through DVI or VGA. I don't believe most other monitor have that?
