Default NEED HELP with RailMounts

Ok Guys,

As some of you know, I've made the FireWire Saver in order to avoid breaking your firewire connection on the HVX camera. So far, I've sold over 100 units and everyone seems to be satisfied. (thanks for all your support)
Here is a link to the Thread http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=95390 (I'm currently waiting new inventory so the site is not taking any orders. Please be patient and I will have some in stock soon)

Now I'm working on a few other projects. One deals with the FS-100 drive.
I've got a few things brewing with this one.
  • 01a - To mount the FS-100 to rails.
  • 02a - To mount TWO Tekkeon MP3400 battery to rails
  • 03a - To mount ONE Tekkeon MP3400 battery to rails
  • 04a - To mount an External Hard Drive for the FS-100 ForEver to rails
  • 06a - To mount both the FS-100 and the External Hard Drive to Rails
what I need help with is, finding out from you guys, which ones would you be interested.

(for those that don't know, the FS-100 ForEver would be a modification to your FS-100 Hard Drive, in which I relocate the Existing Hard Drive outside of the FS-100 which allows you to swap in new Hard Drives as needed. Your down time between swaps is about 1 minute.
So for those long days of shooting, or for those event shooters it will be a blessing. And the price will be a fraction of buying a new FS-100. No more bringing your Laptop with you to dump. or having an extra assitant to dump your Drive to a computer.)

I'm thinking that 04a would be useless, because if you are getting the FS-ForEver then you want the 06a.

The reason why I have 02a with two Tekkeon batteries is so that you can have one battery powering your new FS-Forever which gives you about 5-6hrs run time. (much better than the 1hr you get with the regular battery) And the second battery could power your Camera Mounted LCD screen for also about 5-6hrs. (I'm also working on a 8.4" LCD screen of my own which I think people will agree has one of the most beautiful screens)

Please let me know your thought, and if you are interested.

The more interest, the better pricing I can come up with. If I don't get much interest, the pricing will be much higher.

Lol, that's very funny! I've been working nearly the exact same design for my MP3450 battery! The only downside is that I can't seem to find the materials for it in this area.

well,

as you can see I already have some units working and being tested. If you are interested in purchasing, please let me know.

I'm really curious of what the market is. The units will be less than $100.

Have you also made any of the regular rail mounts to support the 35mm Adapters? A nicely priced one of those would be sweet and looks like you're already there with your mounts...

hey Puckthemad,
Not sure what you mean. I have a RedrockMicro M2. which comes with the baseplate and the rods. You mean for people doing their 35mm adapters, for me to create a baseplate to connect rods to the camera?

Hi Luis,

Thanks, but the reason I'm mainly doing some DIY projects is to save some money on expensive video equipment. I'm still going to make this one myself for maybe a 10th of the price, but it probably won't look as good unless I can find someone to CNC it for me.

Good luck selling them though!

I would definitely buy one of those 01a models siniarch - for under $100, a simply FS100 mount option like this is well worth it for me. Let us know.

oh no not at all. i was simply talking about the support for the adpater itself, not for the baseplate.

ahhh. well, the pieces I'm getting made right now are out of rubber, so it would not work to hold your 35mm adapter with that because of vibration issues. Plus I feel that there is already a low cost rails adapter at one of the 35mm adapter web sites. (yup here it is)
