Greetings. I did a bit of searching here and on Google and couldn't really find anything...perhaps because these are quite a few on the market. However, for those of us who already possess hiking poles and might like to convert one into a monopod, is there any advice you may have?

Currently considering putting the tap and die set to use, but the poles are hollow and more than likely the only stability for the 1/4 inch bolt would come from the hardened rubber grip. Not sure this is a good plan.
