It's CCD with Kodak bayer filters, what did you expect? The entire history of commercial sensors, bayer technology and digital photography workflow involves Kodak and they have experience in both digital and film.

Since it's true raw (not compressed raw) there is only one stage of compression from sensor to distribution. Even the lowest bit rate will look very nice because there is no stacked compression. Codecs are tested and developed with uncompressed input, so they are optimal in this situation.

The samples are great in that they show the only flaw of CCD (smear by sun and car headlights) and none of its advantages (camera motion, shuttering quallity). It's the opposite of what is normally done with preproduction samples and quite refreshing as an approach.

I TOTALLY AGREE ON YOU WITH THAT OTIS. ITS quiet strange why no heavy motion or shutering have been made, thoug they are indeed CCD advantajes.

I believe it's just good marketing sense. A 2/3" full HD progressive CCD recording uncompressed is something most camcorder users are not familiar with. If you keep the expectations at a normal level, the customer will probably be overwhelmed by the purity of the image and the motion quality. The other approach is to promise the world, hiding obvious flaws and let these be discovered by frustrated users on the forums. Things like jello, flickering, etc on the dSLRs that were carefully hidden in the preproduction clips or MPEG motion and detail artifacts in compressed cameras.

In any case, no need to worry, the Kodak CCD is perfect in these departments, like any CCD recorded uncompressed.
