Default Any NEW Indifocus Pro reviews?

Hey there, I know the older Indifocus Pro circa 2006 had a pretty bad reputation, but I'm wondering if anyone is using the newer model and if you could share your experience.

For what it costs - it does the job, but other than that... it's not chroziel, zacuto or cinevate. if you can - get one of these...

What are the differences really? Smoother focus pulling? Better functionality with the gears? I'm new to FF's and am curious as to the major differences, including price. After lessons learned, paying for quality once makes sense - I just don't know how/why/where the quality differs between brands with follow focus'.

Thanks,

Kegan

Haha, yeah, I know.

I'm in the same boat as you. I look at the indiFOCUS stuff and I think "yeah, this stuff looks good and will do the job", but then I get told that I shouldn't bother and just go for RedRock or Zacuto gear. But the products from both those companies are so overpriced it's ridiculous. I'm sure they're good and all, but definitely not priced for the student indie filmmaker. I mean, for a RedRock/Zacuto shoulder mount/stabliser, you're looking at $1200USD - $1500USD...I mean, you could get another 7D for that money! I don't know much about engineering, but I look at these rigs and wonder if they really are worth the price they command...

From my understanding the Indifocus Pro was re-designed and this review is 2 years old. I am not entirely sure and probably better to have it confirmed elsewhere, but that definitely shook my confidence in the product should that be the FF that is currently being sold.

Looks like I'll wait for a used RedRock FF to come up in the Marketplace or if I see a re-designed IndiFocus, consider that. Ahh...money,

Kegan
