For the hole, just use a sharp pin, and barely tap the foil.
As far as look, all standard camera settings. I just did some color correction in FCP. Lots of saturation and red / yellow / blue mess around. I agree it spookily looks like 8mm. You get unexpected results out of everything you shoot on a pinhole, and you can't really tell what you're doing. I felt stupid when I was shooting it.
