I'm using the HVX200 and recording onto a firestore device. When I hook my camera up to my HDTV using the component out cable I have no problem seeing the image coming from the camera. Likewise when I'm watching something using the internal VTR using a tape. However, when I loop my firestore, using a firewire cable into the camera and then send the signal from the camera to the HDTV using the component out I don't see an image at all. It's viewable in the camera but not on the tv. It's the same thing when I output my final cut pro using a firewire into the camera and then out to the tv. I see it in the camera but not on the TV. The problem therefore, seems to be looping a signal with a firewire into the HVX200 and taking a component out signal into the HDTV. Does anyone else have this problem? Am I missing a setting?

You cannot view the contents of the FS-100 using the cam as a pass through.

Why is that you can see the firestore using a firewire into the camera and a composite video signal out of the camera into the HDTV but not a component signal from the camera to the HDTV?

The HVX doesn't provide the ability to pass an HD signal from the firewire through to its HD component outputs. It just doesn't. So FS-100 users do not have the ability to view their footage (through the camera) in HD.
