    hey guys, im shooting a video next week, with my frend, with my new dvx100b, ntsc.....its a hip hop video, and its gunna be black and white, and a dark tone....how shoould i shoot this? any modes? thanks

    crush the blacks, light it up bright and fast shutter speeds. thats a generic idea for rap videos... you can make it more creative if you want, but chicks dancing next to a bentley with 22" spinners and gold grills is what sells that genre. you want it to be bright with deep blacks (make sure you still have detail in the blacks though) and 1/250th shutter speeds. wide angle lenses work for the close up hero shots too.

    if you want to be completely NOT original, boring and make your music video look ignorant...then yes...have the girls and the car....now...if you want to make a smart video, creative, original and eye catching...something that will stand out and look much better than all those rap videos that make no sence....then you should sit down with the lyrics at hand, work out a few scenes that accent the story and shoot.

    also, when shooting blck and white...green lights add a punch when you turn your footage to B.W
