    What should I get next?

Picked up a DVX100a with some extra batteries, and uv filter. I'm debating what to get next. My teacher says get the best tripod and head in your budget, a solid foundation for the camera is a must. I on the other hand would like to get some other toys. You know a glidecam 4000, DV multirig, crane, well you get the idea. What did you buy when getting started and if you bought something that could wait to later what would it be? Thanks for your input.

Well I want to try my hand at T.V. style documentaries ( history channel like) so maybe mics would be in the mix.

Can't hire, will buy what I can and try to kiss some butt to get free help from other people (especially the ones that have the equipment I need).
