Should only do that when you have the ammo in there. The explosion is what causes the slide blowback, eject the shell and load a new one.

That is a blank pistol only. DO NOT FIRE LIVE AMMO IN IT! Doing so will damage or destroy the gun and may cause serious injury to the shooter. There is a pressure restriction in the barrel so the action will operate with the correct blanks. You need the correct blanks designed for the gun for the action to operate.

    WOW!!!!!! Didn't see this thread!

Firesumo, I mean this in a friendly way, but please place the blank gun down. Go buy an airsoft (gas blow back) pistol. You will get the effect you are wanting.

    * Note: most blank pistols on the market today are not the "restricted fire type" with the muzzle allowing gun flash to go down the barrel of the prop. The barrels on most of them are permanently blocked and there is a hole on the top of the barrel (usually near the breech) to allow the pressure to escape. So keep this in mind when buying blank fire props, you will still need to put gun flashes in when in post. But they are good for the report and getting a glint of brass ejecting on the autos.

Blank guns are not toys, and if you have no experience with them, you can seriously hurt yourself and/or those around you.

People can be and have been killed mis-using blank guns. I have a dozen or so blank guns, and I still prefer to use airsofts.
