Hello Everyone
We are going in at the end of this week to do camera tests with our HVX and Mini35. We are using the Ziess SuperSpeeds for lenses. What should we be looking for during the camera tests? What questions should we be asking? We specifically want to see loss of light and the sharpness of the adapter versus no adapter. What about the vignetting i have heard of? Soft Focus? Grain? Scene File?
Any help would be great.
Thanks
Matt

MAke sure the Mini35 is properly set up.
Iwas on a shoot where the DP ( i was ACing) kept gettting soft footage, and blamed the Adapter. when in reality i knew what was wrong. the HVX lens was not focused properly on the GG. But She didint want to listen to me. Catastrophy could have been avoided. always check the focus of the HVX on the GG. IF it is in focus, and youstill get a soft spot on the image then the lens may not be mounted correctly, or the Prism is misaligned. Be careful with rented mini35's. Sometimes they araent well taken care of.Director of Photography
