Also, these updates seem kinda torturous for the Mac-minded. So you need to have one of them DuelAdapter things or a PCMCIA slot to update your P2 cards to work with the new Firmware?

The P2 Store firmware definitely needs to be updated to support 16GB cards.

Yes, every P2 device can be upgraded to work with the 16GB cards. Just download the firmware update.
