I want to....
1.
edit SD and be able to in-/output via Component (BetacamSP)
2. edit DVCProHD
3. edit HDV when customers bring it
4. view SD via analogue outputs to a CRT
5. view HD view component or HDMI
So thats my list.It will depend on cost. Right now I own AvidLiquid Pro (which does not support DVCProHD). Son in th worst case I can always export a fused timeline to Liquid and play out to BetaSP from there.
I need Edius 4 Broadcast, but how do you watch SD and HD?
Does the NX with HDV option help me for component SD? DVCProHD? Or is it nly a accelerator for HDV?
What other options are there?

First off, none of the EDIUS hardware boards will make HD editing faster. They help DV editing slightly, but for the most part you can think of them as I/O boards.
You can't really get by with NX with HD Expansion because that won't give you the RS-422 control, Component video input or balanced audio you need to interface with your Betacam SP.
EDIUS SP will do everything you want, and it comes with EDIUS Broadcast, which gives you the P2/VariCam/XDCAM support.
No HDMI though - just analog component.

Ok, I check out the SP. But maybe I just stay put with my Liquid for BetaSP output (we stopped shooting on Beta anyways)

In that case you could go with EDIUS NX with HD Expansion Kit, but you will also need to upgrade to EDIUS Broadcast software as it is required for DVCPRO HD work.
If you go with EDIUS SP, it already comes with EDIUS Broadcast software.

one other question: i got a good offer for Edius 3.5 + the 4 Broadcast update (SOftware only, no NX, no SO and no Titlemotion Pro).
I assume there is no difference between the Broadcast 4 as a box and the Upgraded version, is there?*****

Titlemotion Pro (TMP) is one of the titlers that Edius uses -- the other one is QuickTitler. The Edius 4 Upgrade relies on the TMP included with Edius 3, and if the offer you have doesn't include TMP, you obviously won't have both titlers at your disposal.
