Will there be a way to mount an external mic on Red for onboard audio?
Seeing as there is no shoe mount what would be the best way to mount an onboard mic???

Yes to onboard recording... and mount the mic anywhere you want on the camera, rail system (top), mini-top mount or cage.

Hi Jim, merry christmas to you and yours...
Does this mean we will not need a pre-amp?

Same question Jim. If we don't need a preamp, that would be rather nice surprise.

We dont know for certain if red will have this but we hope so. On a personal note i think it is a really "must have" option to reduce the time frame for a lighting quick record situation.

On the other hand if we had 1Gb of flash recording built into the 320Gb Red Drive (a XMAS wish ha ha) we would have pre-record anyway and less need to be on the button so quick
Ten minutes to XMAS and i am on DVXuser i just cant stay away
Best wishes to all at DVXuser but in particular to Red team and Jim for making a camera that is looking better each week. To Jarrad for hosting this great site. To others (you know who you are) that have helped me learn some of the stuff that i need to know.
You people are amazing than you so much
