Hi everybody,
After owning my DVX for more than 2 years, I'm almost finished with my first short -- a surrealistic fantasy/comedy called "The Cracked Man," You can see the trailer at:
www.crackedman.com
The trailer is about a minute long. The short is 26 minutes long, and took two years of my spare time because of the large number of special effects.
An area of special interest for me is matte painting and set extension. Most of the environments you see in the second half of the trailer are 2-D or "2.5-D" matte paintings, created with heavily manipulated digital photos.
(Sorry for the slightly out of sync audio in the trailer. It plays fine here but when I upload to YouTube the audio seems to drift.)

Wow, that looks awesome. Just curious, what were your camera settings and what program did you use in order to achieve those backgrounds? Pretty impressive.

That looked pretty cool, I wouldn't mind seeing some more of that. Also a higher quality trailer would be nice, because the youtube compression is painful. Or some full-res stills to show it off in its full glory.
Loved the shot where the guy walks in front of the industrial buildings. The car cemetery was pretty original aswell, although the forefront cars looked more 'composited'.
Goodluck with the screening!
