hey my name is drew and i just joined because i am soon buying a DVX100A or B. not sure yet. i have a few questions, and i think this is the right place to ask them.

-what brand of tapes work the best with the DVX?
-are any stores/ online stores still selling the DVX100A?
    -is anyone selling a DVX?
-does century optics make a .3x fisheye to fit the DVX?

    thanks

    -drew

    Welcome drew,

    1) Most people use Panasonic tapes or Sony tapes. The general rule of thumb is to use one brand and stick to it. I use Sony because they're readily available in my area.

2)I think most stores are selling the DVX100b now. I don't think you'll find a new A model.

3)Check the marketplace on this site. There are usually a few DVX's for sale. It's a good time to be looking for a used DVX as many people upgrade to HD cameras. I'm on the fence myself.

4)Yes they do, but it's expensive. Around $900.

    -Kevin

-Best to stick with the Panasonic PQ or MQ Tapes. And never use any others if possible.
-Not sure about 100 A sales.
-The century optics .3 is available, but costly, $900 or so..

i own the .3x century fisheye lens for the dvx, i got it from tristate for $740. its nice and wide, i use it to film skateboarding.also i used to own a vx2100 before the dvx and its not that hard to get used to. it takes a little while, but reading the dvx book and watching the video it comes with helps alot
