60i vs 30f vs 30p

I am going to be filming a snowboard video with the a1. I was wondering if I should use 60i or 30f mode. I've heard that 60i is bad for shooting moving objects because it is too blurry when put into progressive. (in this case the riders)

What are the differences between 30f and 30p? What should I use in my situation? please tell me what the differences of them are from the time of filming to editting, cuz im not quite sure.

30f = 30 frames per second?
30p = 30 progressive frames?

is 30p more clear? please help me

30p and 30f are generally the exact same thing. 30f stands for 30 frames per second, which is what 30p is.

If you're talking about Canon's 30f vs. say, Panasonic's 30p, then the only difference is the process that the camera records. People say Canon's 30f isn't true 30p, but to me it looks to have the same filmic qualities as 30p.

it depends on your output.

60i is 'faster' as it takes 60 'half-pictures' per second, where as 30f is 'slower' as it only takes 30 'full-pictures' per second.

60i is usually used for sports and other fast moving items because the camera is updating it's visual information 60 times per second.

30f, although cleaner looking at the edges, only updates it's visual information 30 times per second, or half as often.

if you're going out to television viewers (even DVD played through a television), 60i will be perfect for a sport like this.

I would also highly suggest an expodisc, as white balancing in snow filled conditions tends to underexpose the subject.
