    Matt,

The video looks great. I checked out your website too, very nice.

Are you in Boston or NYC?

    Thanks Chris.

I'm finishing my last year of college at the University of Rochester. Most of these music videos are local but some are NYC. I'm back and forth between MA for random shoots etc.

By the summer I'm going to be 100% NYC. Most likely Harlem or the Bronx. How is the weather in NJ right now?

    Cheers,

    Matt

just curious as to why you didnt use the actual song for this video.... why black eyed peas? just seems kind of bizarre to do a music video and then not use the music

    maybe I'm missing something here?

either way, good shots..... I especially liked the one where the rap dude was spinning his back around, nice CC

HAHAHAHAHAHHA!! I did that for 8 days straight! SUCKED!! Started using a towel the 1st day, but it was to hot! My spiderbrace BROKE, I attached some counterweight to the back of it to take away from the 100% front heavy feel! That was GREAT till it broke..

Very nice work matt - looks great and I love the grading - what tool did you use for the color work?

Most of the shots look nearly perfect - couple of times the edges were a bit soft - only noticable if you are looking for it - and I noticed the out of focus white car bloomed some light a bit (which is rare with the M2 element)

very impressive work - I love the pot sink shot

    Hey Guys,

The main reason I used the Black Eyed Peas track is because I don't have the mastered version of the song. Also that track really makes the footage look good. This is for my reel and the directors reel.

Thanks Seth. This was a real run and gun shoot. It was actually raining for part of it and I was hiding underneath a camera coat. Its amazing that any of it is in focus, hah.

The color grading was done in FCP in a 720p23.98 timeline. I used the three-way CC and magic bullet 2.0 editors. If we were outputting to digibeta or d-5 I would work in an uncompressed 10-bit enviornment in Shake.

But until that budget arrives and we get a Black Magic HD card, a RAID enclosure, and a fiber obtic card I'm okay with 8-bit FCP color correcting.

    Cheers,

    Matt

PS: I reiterate that wait until you see this next video.
