    PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

    METRO

    DIRECTOR/DP: Ralph Oshiro
    GENRE: Action/thriller/crime drama
RUNNING TIME: 12-20 minutes [est.] + 6-minute DVXUSERfest version (if genre applies).
    CAMERA: Sony DSR450WSL 2/3" 16:9 24P DVCAM
    LOCATION: Downtown Los Angeles, California
FEATURED POLICE AGENCY: LAPD, Central Division
LEAD: Trying to cast now . . .
SCRIPT: Will write as we shoot . . .
PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY BEGINS: Not exactly sure . . .
PROJECTED RELEASE DATE: This is gonna take a while . . .

    PRODUCTION STATUS:

Pre-pre-pre production. Establishing/beauty shots/stock footage being acquired on weekends; began shooting stock footage last Sunday 10.15.06. Setting and major locations have been defined. One major downtown location (where a major action scene takes place) is probably totally gettable from a merchant I did business with a few years ago. Script has only SETTING and GENRE defined at this point! Oh, and of course, a female protagonist. Yes, a hot one. And yes, SOMEHOW, the script will call for her to be not wearing too much clothing at some point.

    BANNER GRAPHIC:

    Uncorrected DVX100 letterboxed frame grab

Here's an old frame grab from my non-genre compliant DVXUSER "SciFest" entry, "DISTRACTION," that I used for METRO's banner graphic. Since this was all shot with my old DVX100, I plan to RESHOOT all of the stock footage I acquired at this location with my new Sony DSR450 camera for use in "METRO."

    PROPS:

Mossberg 500 18.5" 12-gauge pump shotgun w/ATI tactical collapsible buttstock/rubber buttpad and ATI side saddle

I'm sure this new "home protection device" I recently purchased will become a major prop in METRO.

    PROPS:

    Smith & Wesson M&P [military & police] 9mm semi-automatic pistol

Although I believe that the LAPD standard-issue sidearm is a Beretta 92, I think this new polymer-frame, steel-rail reinforced M&P from Smith & Wesson rocks for the money [MSRP $624]. Will probably buy one of these for "METRO" as well as some non-firing metal replicas.
