Warranty Question, jan i'm looking at you

I have a warranty question that maybe someone can help me out with. The zoom on my camera is slightly messed up. It lags somewhat when you are zooming in and out using the servo zoom and when you use the manual zoom there is a tight spot. Thinking that maybe something got stuck in-between the zoom and body i took the front of the camera slightly apart. (i removed the 2 screws, and then 4 more) There was nothing in there but i noticed that the inner plastic ring of the focus was cracked. I"m not sure how this happened but my question is, can this be warranted? I got my camera in the beginning of September so its not even 6 months old yet (I got it from promax, so its legit). My second question is that if this cant be warranted, is there anywhere i can order that ring. i hoping Jan can maybe help me out. thanks.
