Hey Andy! Everything that you wrote, does it apply to the redular DVX100? If not, can you tell me the difference? Sorry.

An amazing post Andy. I purchased my DVZ100A about 6 weeks ago and it scares the hell out of me. There's so much to learn. After reading this though, I'm going out this weekend and will be shooting random things on the street to expeirment with the camera.
I'm currently writing the treatment for my next film and want to be somewhat familiar with this thing before I begin shooting the film in December.
Thanks so much!

Thanks for the positive feedback. DVXuser.com is a fantastic resource. I learn something new and useful every time I look. Thanks to all of those contributors who have done so much to help my understanding!
I don't have a DVX100, only the DVX100a. It is my understanding that the procedures I've outlined and responses from the camera should be the same for the DVX100. However, if someone with a DVX100 would like to confirm that, it would be greatly appreciated.

What a considerate, thoughtful thing to do, Andy!
Thank you very much.
I don't know much about that stuff so it's great when people take the time to rationally explain something in an easy-to-understand fashion.
Great job!The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus. &&God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him will not perish, but have eternal life

These links to pdf's might help. There both for the 100--not the 100A and the second is for PAL but I found them useful nonetheless.

Wow Andy, :o
* * *I step away from my computer for a couple of days and I get this. *I diffidently have to agree with everyone else. THIS IS FANTASTIC. *I took in everything you said, “Witch was a lot”, and turn it into a great learning experience. *I know it was a generic question but you answered it beautifully. ;D
* * *
* * * * * *I agree with disjecta that this post will help a lot of people. *I know this because it helped me and I knew very little about the dvx100a.
So I just wanted to say thank you for the time and knowledge you put into this post.
Thanks a lot, *
Chris *
