I have a DV Rig Pro and use it on just about any shoot that I am hand held. Actually it depends on the shoot. Sometimes I don't need it. I used it yesterday as I shot a Celebrity Basketball game in North Philly and a lot of people both celebrities and other camera crews were giving me props on my whole set up. One celeb who has been in a bunch of movies, asked me for my business card because he liked how professional my set up was and wants me to come to NY to shoot something! So yea DV Rig Pro is not a bad choice at all. Now for the event I was shooting, I had that thing on my shoulder for 5 and 1/2 hours so I was putting on the icy hot all night!!!! Other than that its a good purchase!

I will add that the velcro strap that holds my wireless receiver in place that came with the Rig PRO broke off right before my shoot so I had to end up using gaffer tape to hold the receiver in place for the time being. I am going to end up mounting the receiver towards the rear of the dv rig pro and will have to get a longer cable to reach the camera now.

I actually picked one up on eBay fairly cheap. I was a little concerned as it came from India. Even despite most of it being made of plastic, it is sturdy and works well. It is very adjustable and includes a strap that goes around your body. Holds the DVX steady and all you really have to do is move your body for clean pans and tilts, etc. Walking will be jumping, but you should use a steady cam for that anyway.
