I was in an Irish Pub with my wife two nights ago, when she introduced me to the girl behind the bar. The girl was acting in the play Ohklahoma, with my wife, and is a very talented actor. I took one look at the girl, and saw my lead role staring back at me. It looks like she is interested and she will get back to me soon, as she is reading the script today. It is very exciting if she agrees to do this! I'll keep you posted.

I was worried about a scene in Stricken where we need to be in a restaurant. I know we cannot afford production insurance and that it is hard to get them to open their doors for free. We were eating in Orbit Cafe the other day and I looked around and realized it would work perfectly. I found out the owner was on vacation and would be back in a few days, and so I left my number. A week went by and I had not heard anything so I drove by the cafe. I asked if the owner was there, and he was. The owner agreed to meet with me and, after hearing what we needed, okayed the project for free. He is a great guy! Now we have almost all the locations locked. We just need two more..... Just thought I would give you an update. I hope all your projects are coming together. -Matt

My Casting is next Saturday at 3:00pm YAY! I sifted through a lot of headshots, and I think I have a good group of actors coming. I am planning to have them performa 1 min or under monologue, some improv, and some reading from the script. Any suggestions for the casting process?

Hey Matt, you need crew? I'd be happy to help out if I have the time. Fresno filmmakers gotta stick together, right?

Hey Bryan! I know Carollyn Devore who is casting agent around this area, and has a lot of talent at here fingertips. She has cast for free for us and is even allowing me to use her studio by the airport. So far so good. Check her out at www.devoretalent.com
Other than that, my wife is the lead in Ohklahoma at Centerstage, so I am meeting a ton of great actors who will work for screen credit.
I think it would be awesome to help each other out. I'll send you a PM. By the way...Moses rocked!
Does anyone have any tips on casting procedures? Do you have the actors read monologues? do you have them improv, read lines, etc?Last edited by Matt Sconce; 06-26-2006 at 01:49 PM.

Very cool, thanks for the constant updates too! A production diary is always an interesting read... (for me anyway)
