Ok this one is a little nuts, but I am told there is no such thing as a bad idea (I doubt that).
What about the ability to send a text message to the viewfinder / monitor from off site? Either by wire or bluetooth or something..
"Why" you ask? Well as a director I cannot tell you how many times I have watched a scene and wanted to tell the operator to change the shot in mid scene due to something that has changes.. If I speak I screw the shot, if would be SO COOL if I could type the operator a message:
"Stay on Joe" or "Pan right when they finishe speaking". A change can be made in mid shot by me sending a simple text message to the operator.
Hehehe yeah this is a wierd idea. I'll put it up for laughs

Jay-
Sure, there probably are some bad ideas...this ain't one of 'em. I mean that, you really hit on nice idea that would be perfectly fitting to debut in a camera as cool as the RED. Nice work.

And RED can make some extra money by overcharging on the keyboard peripheral.
