    How does the Panasonic AGMC100G MIC compare to other brands?

    Im in the market for an on camera mic for my dvx but im not sure if i should go with the Panasonic AGMC100G Unidirectional mic that is made for it.

    i really dont know too much about on camera mics, if anyone could comment on this mic or recommend a better one that would be great

    There are tons of this in the audio section. The short answer is: on-camera mic stinks.

    the one i mentioned is the one that you can buy from panasonic, not the stock mic.

    had to clarify that if anyone was confused

    There are tons of this in the audio section. The short answer is: stock-camera equivalent mics stink.

    ADDED:
    corywdavis: depending on your camera, you would be replacing a [relatively] crappy quality microphone with another [relatively] crappy quality one. Go to the audio section here, and there is TONS of information on this subject. Be prepared to spend a few more dollars though, not too much more luckily, and it will be money WELL spent! Also keep in mind that the mic is only ONE item in that equation; if you want the mic to be camera mounted, you will also need a good shockmount (and wind protection).
