I was told today by a news cameraman using the panasonic ENG camera that utilizes P2 cards that there was a firmware upgrade for the P2 store that cut copying time roughly in half. Any one know about this?

There has been some hubub about P2 someday being able to encode mpeg. Is this what you mean?

All firmware upgrades are available for download on their site.
There was a firmware upgrade to allow the P2 Store to work with 8gb cards, but I don't know if there was any effect on copying times...
