I've just got back from a few weeks in the field. In the morning we leave again for a another week on ship so I'll have a little downtime to write another camera report. I've learn't a lot that I think you'll find interesting![]()
In the meantime, for those interested, there is a website....
www.marcsinger.info
It's in the early stages (for the second time), but will fill up quickly as we deploy in less than a month! The title of the film is only a 'working title'. It's the call sign for the platoon. If anyone has any idea's I'm open to suggestions![]()
I hope you enjoy it.

hey Marc. nice website.. I think "I'm Not Dead Yet" would be a sweet tagline if you do end up calling it Henchman.. I personally like just "U.S.M.C." but whatever it is, I will definately go to watch it... I hope you premiere it in NYC. be safe.
for everybody else, here's Marc's previous thread about what he's using and even pictures of his rig: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=51205

Thanks for pointing that out Patrick.
Marc is the real deal, a three-award winner at Sundance for his 2000 documentary "Dark Days", where he lived among the homeless in an Amtrak tunnel for two years. Now he's doing another doc, but this time he's going big-time, he's imbedded with the Marines at a training base in North Carolina, and he's going to be deploying on an 18-month tour of Iraq and Afghanistan. He's using the HVX in some incredible conditions, he's subjected it to concussion grenades, it's been shot, and that's all just in the training camp! Now he's going to be imbedded with the Marines unit in the middle of two war-torn countries.
I've been corresponding with him and I asked him if he wasn't a little worried about going into the heart of a potential civil war. He said "hey, the hotter the action, the better as far as I'm concerned. Besides, in the company of the guys I'm going with, I'm not worried at all." Marc's a hardcore filmmaking Rambo.
Marc's living it up big-time. And I look forward to a blog!

I'm a Brit so (you know we don't tend to use this term particularly lightly but I) would go so far to say that Marc Minger's Dark Days was "awesome".
Looking forward to the next one!
Don't rely on imdb
