I am looking for a short film script (10 to 30 minutes) to shoot this summer. Preferably a comedy or drama (tired of doing horror). Please contact me at dnavarrojr_at_gmail_dot_com if you have something. I am in north-east Kansas... lots of woods, lakes, small towns (Kansas City is the local "big city") if that helps with your creativity.

Hey guys, I'm currently in the market to acquire a short screenplay (7-10 pgs). Production budget will be approximately $5K and intend to use Kickstarter/Indigogo to help fund the production. Most likely will be shooting on the AF100. Expected shoot date: September 2012.
Specifically looking for atmospheric story with heavy emphasis on mystery/suspense; light on dialogue. If you're a big fan of 'The Twilight Zone', then you're the type of writer I'm looking for. (And yes, I will pay for the script).
Interested writers should contact me at jcqfilms at gmail dot comLast edited by JCQ Films; 03-09-2012 at 11:26 AM.

SYNOPSIS: An older man wakes up in the back of an alley downtown after almost being beaten to death after being mugged. The man, who previously was not happy with his life and lacked any spark, decides to live his life differently. He realizes how short life is, and since he has not found true love yet, he decides to look for the woman who he should never have let get away. He finds the woman and falls in love with her. The movie ends with the man and the woman walking down the same street which he got mugged on previously. Their is a beautiful sun set, people are joyous, and the world seems happy. The scene then cuts to the same street, however, the couple is not walking down that street. There is no sunset and the atmosphere is gray and gloomy. The alley is shown and group of police stand around a dead body as paramedics slide it into a body bag. It is the old man's body. The scene then cuts to a gravestone, which reveals the woman's name on it. It then cuts back to the happier scene of the man and the woman as they now grasp hands and walk into the sunset. We now realize that the reality they are in is actually heaven. The woman had died a while ago and the man actually did die in the mugging. But he doesn't know that yet.

Hey Guys,
Looking for an under 30 minute short to produce this summer for next year's H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival and Cthulhucon.
I'm not looking for anything like "Dagon", or the "Masters of Horror: Dreams in the Witch House" type of film. Those have been done to death (hahaha).
I'm looking to return to the sort of existentialist horror that was so amazing about the Lovecraft Mythos. Think John Carpenter's "In the Mouth of Madness" or the under-rated "Cthulhu" that came out in 2010 (I think).
Working on getting a budget drafted, and hopefully get a Kickstarte/IndieGoGo campaign going to fund the production and pay the screenwriter.
Cthulhu fhtagn,

Hey, I was wondering what was the legal rules for selling a script that wasn't copyrighted? Can you sell it for the same, or do you have to have it copyrighted first before you can sell one? I was wondering this because I would be interested in writing scripts for sale. I'm trying to fund a project (yes a film project), and thought of writing scripts to help pay for it. Also is there royalties involved with selling a script? I'm really new to the profession so any help will help.
