SPidey - please, some director's comments.

A) Where'd you get actors from that were actually good?
(personal note) These guys show the difference between 'behaving' and 'acting'... nothing they do seems fake in any way. Great work!

"both of them are my best friends. we work together and I know how to write characters for them that they would like to play..... I think lol"

B) The opening shots in the rain.. how'd you do that??

"Sophia Martinez our production designer was good rain wrangler. Jut two water hoses. and back lighting it."

C) Congrats on the bitchen dialogue... very quotable.

"Well i Had the idea at first and the dialouge was there but matt and ben ( the two actors) I told them to have free will to modify it to were they felt comfortable saying those lines. I think its important to have both them work on it since they had to say it. and Ben, Ben is awesome."

D) I would greenlight this in a heartbeat ... You could re-do this with a little more budget and really make a classic short film of it ... even a feature maybe ... what are you plans with it??

"i've always wanted to make a longer verison of the in fact i had these character in this one idea but would be able to do it for this competetion. I would like to make a feature if money was there."

My only comment was that the WMV compression wasn't kind to the image... I really like to see some stills or something in full res. Maybe post some breakdowns and hi-res stills for our enjoyment.

why did you choose to go with so many different color treatments?

Depends where now on the green screen stuff i was going for strange look I want to show a mucky place they eat at and then they work of this overly clean looking place.

If you notice they get what they want from the mucky aweful place but the place that represents it self so perfectly they get nothing.

It's a dirty future.

now i lit the bar scene with greens and the gel I like to call Urine. I wanted it to be Like the go this place that doesnt look great at all a poohole if you will. so that where came from.

Now Ryan bathroom and home light is very dark. we dont really know where he lives.

Barts home life feel more depressing like people are trying to get to him.

Now the industrial park, well it over head lights were orangish red so i try to match it but more yellow green it was easier to look at.

CC was by me I thought some thing would look very interesting this way.

My favorite scene is the one where the first cyborg get it. it was fun to light but were out there and the equipment was freezing. and it was like 11pm.

This took me by surprise. I don't know what I was expecting but... I really liked it. For me there was a definite noir feel coupled with desperation and hopelessness. I think you pulled off what you were going for. It almost came off to me as a long trailer for a bigger project, which I might say, I'd like to see. Job well done.

your play on colors works well. it is gritty and captures the mood of the environments. juxtaposing so many color treatments within a narrative is not easy. and you pull it off.. thumbs up. i have been through 2/3 of the films an you are def in the top 5. it must be great having best friends who are also good actors. best of luck.

Reminded me a lot of Blade Runner (non directors cut version)... That's both a good thing (style) and a bad thing (too much voice over exposition).

Some overhead shots of the main character shooting himself up reminded me of Requium for a Dream. They looked semi-fisheye. Also, did you speed it up a little. Maybe I just remember it like that because of the jump-cuts. Nice ass on that robot chick, BTW.

haha i never seen requium for a dream. yes i used a fish eye on that shot. i can't remeber if that was sped up... i love jump cuts. haha yes.... butts :-D
