    Hi all:

FCP 5.04 on a 1.67 Ghz G4 PB with 2 GB RAM and QT 7.04.

Strange, I am getting audio from the HVX-200 on the FCP audio meters but no picture, just "preview disabled". Have the input set to Firewire DVCProHD P24 which is what I have the camera set to.

When I go to the list of devices for the FW bus, the HVX shows up so we know that the Firewire cable from the cam to the Mac is good and we are getting audio into FCP so we know that the connection is made, just without picture.

Is there anything in the camera I need to set to see the same 720 24P picture in FCP's capture now window?

    Puzzled...

    Thanks,

    Dan

This takes a litttle tinkering but it works fine. You need to have the device control set to "Non controlable device" you need to have your settings match the camera and you should make sure you are not in any of the "native" modes on the camera, like 720 24PN. Sometimes FCP wont preview the camera on the first start up. Try setting up your project, saving and restarting FCP with the camera on in the correct mode.
BTW as long as the capture window is open FCP is stable. If you close the Log and Capture window andd try to reopen it, it will crash. Just a bug to be aware of.

Thanks Evinsky, I had the camera in exactly that mode, I will have to try it in a normal native mode and hopefully it will work.

    Thanks,
