I've been doing mostly docs and corporate work but I have a major jones to do a narrative. Right now I'm more focused on the directing/production side and would like to find a good script/writer to work with. Where are some good locations to go to find new scriptwriters and/or scripts?

Check with some local folks too. There's a group of screenwriters up here in denver that are always looking for someone to shoot some stuff. If you find some by you, you have the advantage of being able to go chat with them a while before you pick something. You mind some good collaborators that way. Google 'screenwriters phoenix' or something like that

For screenwriting, I suggest you surf over to www.scriptsales.com and click on
"forum" on the left hand menu. That will take you over to DONE DEAL screenwriting
    message boards.

I am one of the moderators over there and I can tell you there are some good
writers who might help you with a script just to pull a credit on their resume.

I've noticed on this site, though the camera direction is good, storytelling is there,
the dialogue is flat and the crux of the problem is within the script itself.

Welcome to the world of screenwriting. Your story is only as good as your words.
If I could give you any advice on writing scripts, remember, less is more. Cut out what's not
needful and get to the HEART of the story quickly, then leave quickly -- that makes
    the reader/audience want more.

I'd be glad to take a look at a few pages if you'd like. You can email me at
charli.g@earthlink.net. I am not produced but two of my scripts made it to the
quarterfinals for the Austin Film Festival.

It appears we all love the craft of filmmaking, we just each have our own approach
    to this thing called movies.

And there's always www.zoetrope.com Join up and then join the Screenplays and/or Short Scripts "buildings". You'll probably be able to find some writers willing (eager) to get their work filmed.

great suggestions so far, thanks! And I couldn't agree with you more Charli, at the heart (perhaps the soul to get metaphysical) of a good film is the story and the script that brings it to life. You can have great production values, but if the scrpit sucks, that's what people will remember, not so much how fabulous it looked.
One question I have on looking at these sites is what is the typical process for getting a script for review? Is it as easy as emailing the writer based on the synopsis and asking to take a look or is it more involved than that? Is it customary to sign a non-disclosure or similar document? Once I have a script, I have other resources to draw on, but it's this first step that's new territory for me.

I have requested a lot of scripts from writers and they just emailed them to me.

A writer is usually eager to get his story told on film. I would suggest that
you just email the screenwriter and I'm sure they'll just hand you a script or
two. The screenwriting community welcomes filmmakers (to know us is to love us - lol).
