Kobe dropped 81 against the Raptors. He took 46 shots and the next most shot attempts on LA were 15. He's now second in NBA history behind Wilt. The Lakers probably still won't make the playoffs.

Sorry how did he make his team better? The great ones make those around them better jacking up 46 shots is not my idea of a great NBA player. I'll still take Magic as the best ever Laker and Bird as the best ever Celtic. Both teams have a long list of players I would take over KB. Best ever, some would say Jordan, I still think its Magic he could elevate those around him and loved doing it. He was the ultimate team player. Lebron James is currently the most impressive of the young guns. He gets his team mates involved and actually passes up shots when he shouldn't. Kobe's a great player but I'm not ready to "bow down" to him hanging 86 or 100 on anybody. To me it was selfish when Wilt did it and its selfish when Kobe does it. Just my 2 cents.

Well, I'm a huge Laker fan, and actually not a harsh critic of Kobe (like so many people are). I am happy he got 81 points. As long as his team wins, that's all that matters.

I'm happy for him but must say that I don't like him. Scoring 81 points might just be an outcry from him. He really is a good ball player and sometimes you just need that burst like what he did. His stats are insane in that game. He made like 19 out of 20 foul throws! lol

I think that MJ was the best @ making those around him better. It was often said that he was such a great team leader that his teammates felt like that couldn't let him down. For the longest time MJ didn't have any help (outside of Pippen). He allowed Stacy King, Bill Winnington, Luc Longley, and Toni Kukoc to get rings.

The Los Angeles Lakers were getting pounded by the Toronto Raptors (down 16 at one point) until Kobe looked at his bad teammates and decided to try to win the game – which the Lakers did, 122-104.

"It just happened," Bryant said afterward. "For me, it was all about the W. I thought we were lethargic. I wanted to ride the wave and demoralize our opponent."
With all due respect, just because some unknown "sports reporter" says he's down with Kobe doesn't mean he's right.

It doesn't mean he's wrong either.

I just thought it was an interesting article.

I'm not a Kobe fan, but it is interesting to see how people love to bash him.

The thing is: I believe a lot of people who "love to bash him" were once Kobe fans. However, over the years he has done and said many things to change their opinions.
