Have you guys taken your DVX on vacations? I'm about to visit Las Vegas and LA soon and it seems like a perfect opportunity to film some beautiful scens of the vegas strip. (Reminiscence of Leaving Las Vegas perhaps?) Think the bulky DVX will get in the way of enjoying the trip worry free??

personally, when i'm on vacations, i barely take a stills photo camera with me. if i have a camera in the near i just can't have enough of it.. only now i got myself a small MINOX (these little manual cameras with perfect optic) and take it with me because it's at least very light an compact.
but video?! oh no
regarding vegas.. hmm... i would be tempted too... though inspired by "fear and loathing" rather then leaving las-vegas, i would be probably struggling between a square of acid and the DVX... or just taking both?!?! *

Yeah I did this too when I first got my camera. It was such a pain in the ass. It was way too big and I was so worried about it being stolen I couldn't releax. I just take my little digital Elph still camera now, it takes 640x480 movies so its good enough to put on a DVD for "home movies"

My last trip to NY to see my family when my DVX was new, I couldn't wait to get it there. Next week when I go back for X-mas, I'm leaving it here. It's a pain to "schlep" for all the reasons mentioned. I'm hoping the AG-DVC30 will be small enough to fit in my luggage - then I'll have a reason to buy one, so I can leave my DVX at home.
booggreg - I live in LA so if you want me to send you some "vacation" footage so you can leave your DVX at home... let me know. 8)Check out my videos here: http://www.youtube.com/24Peter
