Hey guys,
I was wondering how many of you color correct inside the NLE and how many take your footage out into something else? When I say color correcting I dont mean applying a filter like magic bullet, i mean really grading your film color by color.
If you do take it out, are you rendering clips one at a time or the whole movie?
I Have been doing it clip by clip because its easier than having the whole clip affected and trying to adjust or break up into pieces later. I was just wondering others work flos.
Thanks

Yeah this time im trying it in Avid and its going pretty well. Its just I hate applying things to the original edit. I like to export, CC, and then bring it back in and make a new layer. This way i can just shut the layer off when I dont want to CC to see what the difference might be. Also, like right at this moment, Avid just gave me an error and is not responding so Im waiting to see if will fix itself. But if I have to force close this Im probably going to lose all the work I just did and now Im thinking I should have done it my original way...

Hehe. I didnt lose much but on another note, I was editing and some how I over wrote the last 10 minutes of our promo and Avid saves every 15 minutes so I didnt notice until after an auto save. I tried a bunch of undos but that just crashed everything. I WAS SOOOOO PISSED!!!! Then I checked the Avid Attic and low and behold, the back ups were in there. Avid makes a backup everytime it auto saves and that saved the day.

The promo is a kids show we are creating to pitch to the networks. The promo is pretty much finished except for a few music cues in places that I have to do. The Sci-Fi fest thing is coming along so far, the script should be ready in a few days and a tight schedule follows. I cant wait to start shooting this one. I cant sleep sometimes thinking about how its going to look.
I B over obsessive i guess.
