    You said corner - windows - lots of ambient light, so that's a great way of making sure the reflection of the lights gets into the shot. Windows at right angles to each other make the reflections even worse.

    Thanks everyone for schooling me. Those "75W" modelling bulbs were DIMMMMM. lol I think the 300W and 30W fresnels were a perfect combo. This is damn near close to the look I was going for. Just a touch more fill, or maybe not pull the shadows down so much. heh (pardon the low-res, it's a screen grab from a proxy file in the NLE)

    It looks really good. Being very honest, the mix of black skin, black clothing and black background would have worried me in the planning but it’s worked amazingly well. The lower angle side lighting really brings out the form of the dancer. I’m going to lock this away for the future. The out of focus pinprick reflections I was worried about work too.
