New upcoming "e-mount camcorder" with 8K and HFR 4K?
Sony officially registered this new “ILME-FX3” E-mount camcorder. The registration says nothing about the possible specs.
All i got is a completely wild rumor from a new source (therefore take it with a grain of salt). He said this:
A New 8K ILME VIDEO CAM coming! It Can Shoot UHD 8K, Oversampled DCI 4K, HFR UHD 4K.
Weird that a FX3 would be better than a FX6 and FX9…from a naming structure point of view it should be a lower end model…

If it's indeed FX-3, it should be a lower end model. On paper.
Except, Sony then would be running into A7SIII's space and that's a top seller. As is a brand new A1.*
But there's a lot of open space above FX-9 and that is also where Canon is rumored to move with its own 8K offering.
*It's possible to have a bit of corporate shenanigans there where the pro division competes against the consumer side but it's also unlikely.
Maybe the image was photoshopped. Who knows.

I have no idea but this seems to be the original posting on an FCC index: https://fccid.io/RR-SOK-ILME-FX3
Maybe fx3 is picking up from f3 in nomenclature?
Or maybe it's a high res camera with crappy codecs and form factor hence lower end?

Eh, it seems like there's too little space to squeeze between A7SIII and FX-6 for an 8K model. Plus, it would throw the overall Sony roster/catalog out of whack. And it surely won't be a copy of A1.
But, yes, FX-3 is a registered global model ID. Maybe they felt they needed to stay in single digits and with the popular FX series at the same time.
Which reminds of our old Moskvich 403, which was a precursor to 408 and a sequel to 407 rather than preceding 407, which would have preceded 408. At least, that's the story my dad liked telling.

Hopefully this is the Sony Alpha 1 sensor in a FX6/FX9 body with the e-ND.
