Tehran is an Israeli TV series, the first season of which aired on Apple TV+, 8 episodes. The second season has just been ordered.

Some of the same people (main writer) involved as the acclaimed Israeli show ďFaudaĒ that ran on Netflix here, and again dealing with the world of espionage and cross-cultural thriller taking place in the Middle East.

The writing is very strong, the acting excellent and generally does the job itís supposed to do - gripping, edge of the seat, very involving. Itís taking place mostly in Teheran the capital of Iran. Thankfully not too one-sided and generally makes an effort to see the humanity of both sides.

Itís refreshing to see the professionalism of the production from top to bottom - it delivers. Canít wait for season 2.

    Highly recommended.

Started watching season one just this week. Very intense series with some of the best acting we've seen.

Surprisingly the series is filmed on Greece, although it looks like Iran. Many actors who appear as Iranians are Iran-born and speak Iranian as their mother-tongue.

    ...speak Farsi or Persian.

    Iranian is not a language.

Thanks for the heads up about the show David and OldCorpse. I'll try to check it out.

    **POSSIBLE BROAD/GENERAL CONCEPTUAL SPOILERS** -

Also loved the show. Very grounded and down to earth unlike most spy movies that focus on actions and stunts. While it relies on some contrivances (i.e. a lot of coincidence) and deus ex timing and devices, it's a minor complaint given what a good job they did building suspense in more realistic ways. The feeling of tension is often palpable and relatable, frequently reminded me of the type of suspense Argo built (such as the airport scene).

Good stuff. They have been renewed for a second season.
