Hamsters? I guess they have the same pitch as squirrels.
Chip an' Dale first appeared in 1943 Disney's classic: Private Pluto.

Chip ‘n Dale were chipmunks.
Squirrels chirp. Loudly. And the ones around here look like they lift twice a day and take steroids.

Sorry for that, it's the same in my language and thank you, today I learned the difference between ground squirrel and chipmunk.

I've noticed this trend, it is horrific sounding, 100% agreed. Hamsters should remain in Kia commercials and in cages in 9 year old girls rooms.
It's a business first and a creative outlet second.

I hadn't realized that Hamster dance was derived from that old Robin Hood film, haha!
I have been noticing this trend on youtuber videos but in some of those it kind of fit, since they were just light hearted fun videos to begin with. I didn't know it was sweeping into other areas of production.
Is this the ukulele replacement that many have lamented?
What next? Do we get the high pitched hamster voice with ukulele in the same songs?

I've run across it in a lot of YouTube videos, and I think it sounds terrible, and I'm only 30.

Do a little research and you discover that a large percentage of YouTube views are fake, generated by bots. This MIGHT
have that many views or it might have 500 views and the rest of the views were purchased using bots. I always tell clients
to remember that everything you see on TV is fake, even a lot of the stuff that seems so real. YouTube is the same by extension. It's a business first and a creative outlet second.

10 million views isn't that much anymore. Especially for an account with over 200K subs.
Views...likelier explanation is it was picked up or referenced by another account (or more) that has millions of subs at some point.
Many of the of the entertainment YouTubers do music videos...it's a thing on YouTube.
