I’ve owned the DJI RS2 for a few weeks. I tried it out with my pocket 6K. Now I test it with the Canon 90D:

I've been pretty interested in the 90d for gimbal work but the lack of ALL-I had me pause. I've seen a mixed bag of footage from this camera on YouTube, have you felt limited by the codec?
Did you upgrade to the RS2 from the original? Nice shots! -Karl

The codec matters less than the processing. Because some of Canon's higher-end options include ALL-I in HD and the results are the same like above.
It's about the resolution and processing and Canon will not budge in their decade-long tradition of refraining from providing us good HD in their DSLRs.
The operation and the location above is really nice, but as you can see the quality in 60p is a beautiful serving of mashed potatoes.

To be fair to the camera, that was shot in 720p and then exported at 1080. I should have shot 1080. I am really liking the camera on the gimbal. I only wish it had 4k 60p.

Unfortunately, it makes no difference as far as HD is concerned...
Blackmagic and Canon make their cameras very differently.
4K/60p would make a difference, but any 4K/60p currently from Canon under $5K is either also reduced in quality, has no LOG, or is on a time limit (with the C200B being the only exception).

It is quite amazing how high priced the canons are. If I didn’t already own the the batteries and the lenses, Panasonic or Sony seem to offer more bang per buck on the video side. Since I already own the pocket 6K, the canon fits my needs.

Have you put the BM on the gimbal & tried the RS AF features?

I put the pocket on the gimbal. It works well. I just have to take off the cage, which is a little annoying.
