The second take of this commercial was shot with the HMC40 AT 60P to show a smoother image, as the other 2 takes were made in 1080 the 720 one was upscaled to 1080.

I like it. The 720P upressed to 1080 matched nice with the other 1080P footage. Looked like it was shot on 1080. I always liked the sharpness of the HMC40. Always wished it could do 1080 60P but when it upscales that nicely it's not really a problem
What software did you use to upscale the 720 footage?
Glad the old HMC40 is still serving you well

Yes sharpness and depth of field not to mention color and ergonomics is what always brings me to the HMC40.
This was edited in Premiere Pro using a plugin from Boris effects called BCC UpRez, does a fantastic job upscaling
