Doesn't make sense to me... I'm pretty sure that the camera prohibits the recording mode based on the identifier it reads from the card. It isn't actually conducting a speed test on the card.

It won't even let you record 24p in 4K Intra? This is regular mode, right? Not S&Q?

Correct, regular 25p will not record. In other news. I bought a Sony Tough 128 GB sd v90 card, and this lets me record in All Intra 4k. But, in any S&Q mode, it demands a cfexpress card. The only way I have found to record high speed in All-I, is to put my regular recording framerate in 50p, and then intepret that in post as 100% slowmo.. Kind of works as it is now, but strange stuff

pretty bizarre. any v90 can absolutely handle the 250Mbps of all-intra 25p.

S&Q boosts the bitrates I believe, because it will write that same 250Mbps to the slowed footage if I understand correctly (so, 500Mbps per filmed second of 50p because it gets written to 2 seconds of 250Mbps 25p)

so, it's no surprise that S&Q requires faster cards, but again - a V90 can handle that

seems like Sony is bilking us or a firmware update is coming

I've been able to record All-I 24 up to 60 fps without any issues with the Pro Grade digital V90 cards.

In using the camera on the gimbal yesterday, thought, it was being a bit of a pain. First, it gave me the "operation not allowed, check lens" fault when I tried to shoot in the auto focus/auto iris PASM mode in low light, then would work fine for a bit in the all manual mode, unless it was a bit dark. I would take it to the van to mess with it, and it would work just fine. Go figure.

It finally came around to working fairly seamlessly, and the couple of final warning interruptions were sorted out with a quick power off and power back on action.

    A bit worrisome.

That's some weird sounding issues. I can't see the reasoning. Maybe try updating the camera firmware? I think there's a new one out
