How do I create a correction LUT from flat to Rec.709?

I'd like to play with the VH PseudoLog profile on Nikonpc.com, but I couldn't find a corresponding correction LUT. I guess a lot of people just throw on an arbitrary S-curve, but I was hoping for something a bit more mathematically correct.

Ideally I'd like to create the LUT in free/cheap software like Gimp, Affinity Photo or an old version of PhotoShop.

The one hack option I thought of, that I have yet to test, is to shoot a black & white carde using the flat profile, and use the eyedropper tool in Resolve to set the black and white point from the card, and save the corrections as a LUT.

I'm just bumping this in the hope that someone who knows the answer will run across it. This software section seems the most logical for my question, but I don't think it gets much traffic.
