I was just wondering what Tapes everyone is using in their DVX.
Alot of people I've talked to have said not the greatest things about panny tapes, and I want the best for my 100B.

I've always (5 years) used Sony Premiums. Never had a problem, and they're cheap. I think it's most important to always use the same kind of tape. If you want 'the best,' you can spend all kinds of money and get 'em, but, IMHO, you don't need 'em.

We have been using Panasonic Master Quality at our shop. Now the new model is Advanced Master Quality and is even better. This is what Panasonic recommends as well.

True, expensive tape is not needed, and consistency is. I would normally recommend at least PQ tapes, which are about the same price as DVM60PR, but dry lube, which is better for Panny products. However, many people successfully use Sony tapes. We still have a stash of 5,000 pcs of the MQ tapes, which are still half the price of the new AMQ tapes: http://www.evsonline.com/merchant2/m...Code=AYDVM63MQ

Are any other tapes outside of the panasonic PQ brand that are dry lube? I read that Fuji are dry lube but I'm not sure.

Yes but for such a small price difference, I personally wouldn't trust any other brand than Panny or Sony. It's an expensive camera with sensitive tape mech, and the footage is usually
too important.

Speaking of which I was desperate for some MQ or PQ tapes today and couldnt find any.... instead I picked up 10 Sony Master DV MM3 tapes any words on these? Pretty expensive so i assumed they would suffice.
EDIT: Sorry just did a web search and all sites are japanese. So i assume not available outside japan.
AH IC they are the same tape as this (I dont need the chip).. anyway are they any good?
