    What do we mean by focus ring drive ?

    Dear all ,
    In my DVX200 we have the focus ring drive and has the following setups like SPEED / COARSE / FINE / FINE(WIDE)

    what do we mean by each one speed, coarse , fine , wide ??
    Which one is better to keep fucus all time and never goes away ?
    which one is better for wedding parties ?

    I believe that's for the sensitivity of the focus ring (when you use it manually and turn it in the MANUAL focus mode). It affects how much you have to turn the ring for the focus to change.

    Auto-focus is something different.

    Yes, those are the settings for how the focus ring operates when the camera is in manual focus mode. They have nothing to do with auto-focus. The user manual describes all the modes except "Fine(Wide)" which was added after the camera was introduces in a f/w update.

    I have experimented and always leave my camera set to "Fine".
