HMC40 + Closeup Filter

Looks like the HMC40 is still serving you well. What distance from the lens were the objects?

WAS WITH THE Lens extended to maximum telephoto with a +3 B+W Close up filter at about foot and a half.
Also want to enhance the fact that the optics that this camera has are a bargain for the $ 2000 I paid back ten years ago.

Detail at that close distance, discovered that The Lens and depth of field from this camera was way better than my DSLR.

P.S. I'm sure you know...but it really depends on your sensor size and speed of glass.

So there's a difference between a MFT mirrorless (which some people call a DSLR) and a full-frame DSLR.

IMO, there is no true shallow DOF in any of these jewelry videos.

This is an example of shallow DOF and it's simply impossible to reproduce with anything but a full-frame sensor and a super-fast f/1.4-1.8 lens.

[Not always practical, but you could have maybe just the diamond in focus on a ring or something for a certain effect.]

For this shot when I said better depth of field, wanted to say more area in focus, or probably should have say less depth of field since my purpose was to show more area in focus.
AND that was not possible with my lens on my APS-C DSLR Camera that was showing to much area out of focus.
Not to mention The lens quality that is more relevant at that distance.
Also want to mention that Parfocal property from the lens was not affected by the Close up filter
