My initial response is... Sweet. Combo with that lens should fly off shelves .... in normal times. I will certainly read into all specs more...

As a former owner of several C500PL and C300Mk2, good to see Canon finally got the initial pricing right first time around.

The specs are what we all expect in 2020, and the dual pixel exposure is a HUGE boost to the camera- unexpected and something really worth trying.

I'm skeptical of claim of 16 stops of DR... but even if it gives *true* 14 or 14.5 stops....with really good AF & multiple codecs... this could be a real winner... and agree about the dual pixel exposure...

That lens would be perfect if it covered FF - it’s not much good on S35 as 25 is not wide

Well C300 is 'famous' for doc

true zoom lenses (starting a 16/17 S35 or 24 FF) are far too massive in FF, I guess in FF infrastructure just gets too big for doc.

Yep. That's why the camera is 10k and not 16k.

Personally this feature set is exactly what I have wanted from a camera for years. Dual pixel auto focus @ 120/4k is a game changer.

The timing is odd. Is anyone planning on making a camera purchase anytime soon?

Is there any business reason to wait to announce the camera? I saw this same comment about the DJI drone and I was a bit confused about the rational. In all seriousness, is there an argument to be made for waiting to release new technology that has been developed?
