Im sure a few of you are going to be rolling your eyes at the conclusion of my lens mod on the genesis but this is what I did and this is what I AM happy with.

I modified a 24mm f2.8 M42 lens and e-epoxy secured the lens to the camera. I am off inf focus by a mm. This first test was rough due to poor lighting in my home, but I am happy with it and I can now use the genesis.

& heres a panalog raw vs graded shot

Mike, I'm rolling my eyes. But who cares. Enjoy your obsession. How were you able to center the lens on the mount? Pictures please.

hahaha its all good man, roll all you want, i dont care :b.

I took the mount off the back of the lens, covered sensitive areas with etape, lines up the lens and layed down the poxy. I did mount everything in a way where if i did want to remove it i could and there would not be any perm damage to the camera or the lens

So you basically converted a $200,000 panavision camera into HVX200? Awesome idea. Next to complete it maybe make 65mm adapter with spinning CD? Then you have first 65mm genesis in the world.

    Nah, enjoy!

Laying the sarcasm on thick there buddy. Hey for what I have available to me, it does the job. I’m sure once this corona bs is over and I’m back to work I’ll find other options. My mods are reversible if I want them to be. I’m just happy I can finally shoot with the damn thing

Good first draft, you are learning where the lens needs to be in order to work with F35.

Get yourself a dremel and a lot of the sanding tools, it’s easy to shape metal once you get some confidence. it looks quite easy to mount m42 mount off K3 16mm camera.

You should be able to find a way to make m42 fit quite easily if you can remove front plate and dremel. With some good thought you can keep panavision mounting holes to return to.

It is a crazy idea but who cares bro. Just be you! As long as you like it and it works for you then that’s all that should matter. I think it’s a bold and brave idea and that shows how bold and brave you are as a person ;)

    Cheers! Have fun shooting bro!

As one of the few people here that have actually watched your feature doc (sorry cant remember the name but about your friend that died, but it was quite good, yes I watched the whole thing). I would say, you've done a lot of camera musical chairs lately but now it's time to go back and make something else new. We all love cool tech, but its only because of the what it can do not the camera itself . It's possible to make something with 1 lens so whats stopping you.

Exactly man! and if you really followed me since 2005, you'll know ive always played camera musical chairs. I had a 3 year break in that when I was working solid with the varicam. Always been my goal to get my hands on as many cameras as I can. My number is 70+ to date since 2005.

Also, thank you very much for taking the time to watch my documentary

Wow that’s a lot of cameras! I’m in a long term relationship with my C100, I think I’ll pickup a 2nd body if I have enough work thru COViD
