Mike, going through old pix. Thought you might enjoy seeing these of the Genesis in action back in its heyday.

Love it man! Thanks for the share. Wish my genesis was in the same cosmetic shape as the one in that pic. At least its working, minus the LCD panel on the operators side.

    Heres the back of it.

Edit: Looks like its just a 16x2 LCD Character Display. Just need to connect those white cables to a new board and i will be fixed. Oddly enough its the only piece of in the panel thats not Sony.

Update: I was able to put on a different panel that had the full camera name intact but its a little more beat up. It seems like there is spray paint covering the powdercoat chipping by the focal measure icon. Whats the safeest way to remove the spray paint? I figure I could just add some velcro over the patches, it would look clean and serve a purpose lol

Mike, search 'removing spray paint from powder coat'. You'll find several recommendations. The best tip given was to try it on the inside of the panel first. Be careful with the silkscreen which may not be as robust as the powder coat.
The solvent to be used likely depends on whether the spray paint is lacquer or enamel.

UPDATE: I got the paint off. Poor thing has def been around the bend. The LCD Panel is getting fixed later this week. Cant believe how cheap those LCD screens are!

I wish I had the resources to just sandblast the entire panel and find someone who could just redue the entire paint job but I dont have that kind of $, esp during this pandemic going on.

Finally got a VariND filter for the lens to shoot outside with the genesis. Did a quick test out my window.. love the warmth the image has.
