    Hi All

I have been using stand alone Celtx on my old Mac for some years. We bought the addon's for it and like it. Now we are moving from Mac to PC I wanted to get a copy of the stand alone Celtx for PC. Problem is now it is cloud based and subscription.

There are lots of places offering free downloads but most have a reputation for malware....
Does anyone have a PC version of the V2.9 Celtx for PC? As it was free and we have an official Mac version I don't think there is a problem with licensing.
Also we want compatibility with our current files and the addons,

It is a pity Celtx went the direction they did rather than simply make it chargeable (not subscription).

    Yes.

Whilst there are lots of download sites offering it 99% seem to be malware places. Finding the safe 1% seems elusive.
As mentioned I have the original free MAC version but paid for all the add ons to support the project.
We are moving from MAC to PC.

If you know where a valid download could be found in the past you might be able to retrieve one via the wayback macine (archive.org).

Only safe place I can thing of would have been the Celtx web site. I will see if it works.

Softonic are pretty safe for downloads and they have v2.9.1 for PC available. I thought what the hell and downloaded it and scanned it with Defender and Malwarebytes and both came up with clean reports so maybe that may be a source you can use. If any problems I have it here and could chuck it up somewhere?

Thanks... Got it and it appears to work.

    Problems...
I need to work out how to transfer all the addons (artwork and extensions) from MAC to PC version. As I paid for these I will ask Celtx but I should be able to find them by hacking round the directories and folders. .

the PC version won't connect to Celtx online studio. (mac is still doing so) Something to do with security. I suspect this is to do with SSL/STL handshaking.
So file transfers will be done manually across the internal network or by USB stick.

Also does Celtx not like Internet Explorer or Edge. is insisting on Chrome or firefox. So loading Firefox.
Solve one problem and another two appear but I am, a lot further forward than I was.:-)
    thanks cyvideo
