Hey guys, I have had no problems with my FCP or dvx100 before.. I have captured a number of things with no problem until lately. I am working on a documentary and for some reason all of a sudden when capturing, every couple minutes of capture it will say "error: loss of cadence in the (vtr) pulldown" or something like that.. And it stops the capture.. before it wasn't so bad because i just broke the B-roll up into clips.. but now all of a sudden in one of my interviews.. (an hour long with NO stoping the recording) it wont let me capture it, it keeps coming up with the warnings.. Any ideas what that could be? and why its giving me problems all of a sudden.

Someone told me that maybe my FCP wasn't good, maybe reinstall it. I tried it on my G5 and my g4 laptop, and neither worked.. same problem. They both crash after a couple failed attempts.

    thanks

    Mike

Most likely the tape has bad timecode- either due to breaks in the recording from reviewing the tape in the field or dirty heads that need to be cleaned.

Did you reuse tapes? If so, it might be mixing up regular cadence and 24padvanced cadence.

its a brand new tape, but i striped the tape on a regular camera in order to save the dvx heads.. could this be why? and why is it that it only happens on these past couple tapes, even tho i have stripped other tapes the same way
